This painting was inspired by the pressure on productivity for self worth, particularly on women - I wanted to emphasise the importance of rest, and rest as protest. This figure is mindfully and unapologetically lounging within her own safe space. It's meant to be a reminder that taking time to rest and look after yourself equips you to to better show up for yourself, others and ultimately leads to a happier life.
This work is ready to hang and framed in tasmanian oak.
